PNP Staffing Group has been retained by the Physician Affiliate Group of New York, Inc. (PAGNY) in their search for the Executive Director role of their newly created Foundation.


PAGNY is one of the largest multi-disciplinary groups in the country whose main purpose is to nurture and embolden the healthcare providers who take care of the most fragile and vulnerable patients through partnerships with the NYC Health + Hospitals System. They are committed to recruiting and retaining productive and enthusiastic physicians providing accountable, high quality responsible care with the highest degree of sensitivity to meet the needs of the multicultural population they serve.

Reporting to the CEO and Board of PAGNY, the Executive Director will manage all aspects of Foundation administration including general supervision of daily operations, create a strategic development plan to grow the philanthropy of the Foundation through identifying and securing grants, corporate support, soliciting individual and major gifts, program development and external/community relations.


  • Maintains operational policies and procedures, practices and guidelines of the Foundation.
  • Researches, identifies and oversees the grants process from local, regional and national funders interested in supporting the work and assigned initiatives of the Foundation
  • Will be responsible for growing PAGNY’s individual giving and major gift donors while expanding corporate partnerships and support
  • Identify fundraising needs and develop strategies to support long-term growth, create a Development strategic plan, in collaboration with the CEO and Board of Directors to raise the $1M budget.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of the methods, practices and procedures for obtaining information about the giving programs of corporations, foundations and governmental entities.
  • Encourages experienced principal investigators both within and outside of NYC Health + Hospitals to conduct their research through the Foundation.
  • Monitors grant proposal deadlines, and manages proposal submissions.
  • Oversees all grant funding awarded to ensure that agreed upon deliverables are met and resources are appropriately used consistent with the terms of the grant award.
  • Develops and cultivates a Solicitation and Giving program targeted to varied potential donors.
  • Develops new programming ideas and initiatives which assist the Foundation in fulfilling its mission.
  • Consults and collaborates with PAGNY Counsel’s Office to ensure that the Foundation’s activities comply with all applicable laws and regulations.
  • Consults and collaborates with PAGNY Comptroller to maintain grant records of both incoming revenues and outgoing expenditures that meet auditing and Foundation requirements.
  • Works independently as well as cooperatively, as a reliable member of the PAGNY and Foundation teams.
  • Takes initiative to improve and advance Foundation practices in grants management with community and Foundation partners.
  • Attends the PAGNY Health and Research Foundation quarterly Board meetings as directed.
  • Participates in Foundation strategic planning initiatives and implementation
  • Undertakes special projects or other duties as assigned


  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Ten+ years of a progressive career in nonprofit development; experience in the healthcare sector as well as a “start- up” environment a plus.
  • Track record of securing philanthropy through grant management, ability to raise funds through donor solicitation, corporate support and major gifts
  • Outstanding judgment and communication skills including presentation, persuasion and negotiation skills required in working with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Substantive knowledge of best practices in the fields of interest to the Foundation.
  • Familiarity with the public and private funding streams related to the Foundation’s domains of work.
  • Must possess a working understanding of evaluation methodologies aimed at assessing program effectiveness.
