In today’s environment of heightened media and regulatory scrutiny of charities, consider a free charity review from the BBB. With 20 Wise Giving Standards for Charity Accountability, it looks at governance, marketing and effectiveness. Your organization completes a questionnaire and submits financial statements and fundraising materials. The review process is done in collaboration with the charity and the results are published on the Metro New York BBB website (www.newyork.bbb.org) as well as the national BBB site (www.bbb.org) and includes a summary of the organization’s mission, programs, governance, and key financial information.
