News from the President 2.3.17

The new Administration is moving at break-neck speed and new cabinet appointments, changes in policy and new executive orders have already affected many nonprofits. The charitable deduction could be next and it affects us all. In case you didn’t see the email I sent earlier this week, I’m asking for your presence and voice on Capitol Hill on February 16th to support retention of the charitable deduction.

AFP is organizing this advocacy day. Please see AFP Interim President & CEO Jason Lee's message plus sign-up LINK below. We need your help to secure the continuation of the charitable deduction in support of all nonprofits. I hope you’ll join me there.

From:

Jason Lee, Interim President & CEO, Association of Fundraising Professionals

If we've learned anything over the past few days, it's that the new Administration is going to move fast on issues, so it is imperative that we go to the Hill on Feb. 16th with a sizable, vocal group to protect the full scope and value of the charitable deduction. We may not get a second opportunity.

I urge you to attend the event to ensure that AFP has strong representation.  I'm happy to answer any questions.

For additional information about the event and to RSVP, please contact Ali Davidson with your name, organization and state/Congressional district at adavidson@urbanswirski.com.

Please cc: me when you RSVP.

Thank you for your consideration.
